Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the cute stamp set Window Shopping. Our international crew has some really fun stuff to show you!!  (You can click on the banner below for a full list of members and more info.)
One of my delights in stamping and crafting is making gifts for others and especially creating coordinating gift sets.   When I recently finished a couple of potholders one of which looks like bacon and eggs I thought it needed some coffee to go with it.   But since this present will be mailed it is a little hard to include a cup of coffee.  So... I made a coffee-themed card.
The Window Shopping set had the PERFECT dotted background stamp to go with the dotted fabric of my potholders.
Isn't that just the best match?  Stampin' Up's products are right on-trend and coordinate so well with other industries.

Oh and I used a Stampin' Up product to make my potholders too.
The bacon and eggs potholder is a chenille method which requires multiple layers of fabric that is stitched down and then cut open.  I hand cut all the eggs whites which was not bad but the idea of hand cutting all the egg yolks did not sound like fun.   So I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut them!   I could only cut one layer of fabric at a time but hey it was a whole lot faster and more accurate than I could do by hand for sure!

And speaking of time savings here is a tip for stamping the Happy Birthday.
The stamp has the two words together but I separated them on the card.
You could selectively ink up each word and stamp them but to save time I hid the extra words behind the dotted layer.  To do this I first stamped the dotted layer (I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the dots).  Then before adhering that layer down I made a pencil line where it would be and stamped Happy Birthday twice, once with the "Happy" above the line on the left and the "Birthday" below the line on the right.  When the dotted layer was in place the extra words were covered up!

Another little detail is that the tiny heart topper on the coffee cup is Bermuda Bay cardstock colored with a Bermuda Bay marker to give the same coloration as the tone-on-tone stamping of the dots.

Here is the complete set!  This card could be done in any color scheme to match whatever gift you have.
